Abstract

Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) has become a critical component for securing multi-cloud environments, where organizations utilize services from multiple cloud service providers (CSPs) such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. This paper explores the effectiveness of CSPM in managing security configurations, enforcing policies, and maintaining compliance across diverse cloud platforms. We examine the definition and importance of CSPM, its key features, and its role in multi-cloud environments. The paper presents strategies for effective CSPM implementation, including ensuring interoperability among CSPs, managing security policies uniformly, automating processes, and integrating with existing security tools. It also addresses the challenges faced in implementing CSPM, such as interoperability issues, lack of standardization, and complexity in policy management, and provides insights into overcoming these challenges. Further, we delve into future directions in CSPM, highlighting emerging trends like AI integration, zero trust architecture, and advancements in compliance automation. By applying mathematical modeling to evaluate CSPM efficiency and analyzing case studies, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of CSPM practices and technologies, offering valuable insights for enhancing security management in multi-cloud environments.
