Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming cybersecurity by enhancing threat detection, automating defense systems, and improving response capabilities. However, this rapid evolution raises critical concerns regarding privacy, data governance, and algorithmic transparency. The challenge lies in optimizing AI’s security capabilities while minimizing the risks of mass surveillance, bias, and data misuse. This paper explores the dual-edged nature of AI in cybersecurity—where it enhances defense yet may encroach upon user privacy—and proposes a balanced, architecture-driven approach that integrates privacy-by-design, explainability, and ethical AI practices.
